how to apply? Students (freshman student) applying for scholarship for the first time need to be “registered” on the portal by providing accurate and authentic information as printed on their documents in the “Student Registration Form”.
The registration form is required to be filled by the parents / guardians of the students who are below 18 years from the date of registration.
Before starting the registration process, students / parents / guardians are advised to retain the following documents:
Student’s educational documents
Student’s bank account number and bank branch’s IFSC code
Note: For Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme, where student do not have their own bank account, parents can provide their own account details. However, the parent account number can only be used against scholarship applications for a maximum of two children.
Aadhaar Number of the student
If Aadhaar is not available, a bonafide student certificate from the institute / school and
Scanned copy of Aadhaar enrollment ID or bank passbook
Bonafied student certificate from the institute / school if the institute / school is different from the applicant’s domicile state.
The brief instructions for filling the online application form are given below (fields marked with fields are mandatory):
Date of Birth (DOB) * – Provide the DOB printed in the educational certificate.
State of domicile * – Domicile state means the state in which students have a permanent address.
Students are required to provide their domicile state correctly as the “Application ID” assigned to them will be based on the domicile state. This application ID will be used as a “login ID” on the portal and also for future references. The allotted student will not be allowed to change the domicile state under any circumstances.
If the student domicile is different from the state institution / school status, then he is required to provide a bonafide certificate in the prescribed proforma to the student in scheduled studies.
Scholarship Category * – The scholarship schemes are divide into the major categories described below (students are required to select the respective category based on their class / course in which they are studying):
2.1 Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme: For students studying from 1st grade to 10th grade.
2.2 Post – Matric Scholarship Scheme / Top Class Scholarship Scheme / Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme: For students of class 11th, 12th and above in which ITI, B.Sc, B. Comm., B. Includes courses such as Tech, Medical. Students of top level colleges like IITs and IIMs / technical and vocational courses etc. (Attach hyperlink detailing schemes of various ministries)
Student Name * – Provide printed name in educational certificates. For students applying for post matriculation, top class and MCM scholarship scheme, the name printed in class 10th certificate should be given.
For students providing Aadhaar number to ensure that your name is correct in your Aadhaar card.
Mobile Number * – Provide the correct and authenticated mobile number, as all communication and one-time passwords related to portal activities will be sent to this mobile number as SMS.
(i) In case of post matriculation, top class and MCM scholarship scheme, only one registration with a mobile number is allowed.
(ii) For pre-matric scholarship schemes, where students do not have mobile number, parent’s mobile number can be provided. The parent’s mobile number can only be used to fill a scholarship application for their maximum two children.
Email ID – Provide correct and authenticated email ID, as all communication and one-time passwords related to portal activities will be sent to this email ID.
Bank Account Statement – Provide the active bank account number and IFSC code of the student’s bank branch. The bank name will be specified automatically based on your IFSC code. If not, write it as printed on the bank passbook.
In the case of post matriculation, top class and MCM scholarship scheme, a registration should be done with a bank account number. For pre-matric scholarship scheme, where students do not have their own bank account number, parents account number can be used. However, the parents’ account number can only be provided for their two children.
Identification Details – Select and provide information in this area very carefully. For identification details you must select one of the following methods:
7.1 Aadhaar Number: Students who have an Aadhaar number are required to provide a 12-digit Aadhaar number as printed on the Aadhaar card.
Upon submission of the registration form, the system will match the applicant’s personal identification details with the Aadhaar record.
Only one registration with an Aadhaar number is allowed. However, if more than one application of a student is found in the system at a later stage, then all of its applications are liable to be rejected.
It may be noted that your Aadhaar number can also be used to deposit the scholarship amount in fast track mode in the bank account linked to your Aadhaar number.
For all such cases where the student does not have Aadhaar, providing him with a certificate issued by his institute / school along with Aadhaar enrollment number in the prescribed proforma or scanned copy of the first page of his bank passbook Required (with photo) of the applicant)

After submitting the application, the default login ID and password will be sent to the mobile number provided for logging into the NSP portal. If the password is not received, the option to forget the password will be used on the login page.
Students are advised to provide “annual family income” as per the income certificate issued by the competent authority in their scholarship application.
